First let's start with some basic history. The Olde English Bulldogge originated in England dating back into the 18th century. They were specifically bred to participate in blood sports like bull baiting, which was a cruel and inhumane practice. These dogs were bred specifically for their strength, tenacity, and courage. Over time, as attitudes towards animal welfare changed, blood sports were outlawed. This led to a decline in this breed. However dedicated breeders worked to preserve the breed by selectively breeding for more desirable traits making sure to maintain their distinctive appearance and characteristics.

So, what makes Olde English Bulldogs unique? As a parent, I can personally tell you that Olde English Bulldogs are truly unique and special companions. These dogs have a rich history and with their distinctive characteristic that set them apart from other breeds. One of the most remarkable traits, is their gentle disposition. Despite their tough exterior, they are known for being affectionate, loyal, and loving towards families. They are great with kids and make wonderful family pets due to the gentle but protective nature.

Olde English Bulldogs are known for their muscular build and robust appearance. Despite their strong physique, they are not high energy dogs that require intense exercise routines. This makes them an excellent choice for parents with busy scheduled or those who are not particularly active. Their easygoing nature and moderate exercise needs make them a great pet option for many households. They are typically laid-back dogs who are content with just chilling out and enjoying a calm environment. However, when their human family member is ready to play, Olde English Bulldogs are more than happy to participate. They are patient and well-suited for household with children, as they are not easily agitated or provoked.
